Team Uncool Fashion Likes: Market on Main & XXII (22)

I headed to the new Market On Main which is organised by fashion designer Jacques van der Watt (Black Coffee) & well known creative entrepreneur Bradley Kirshenbaum (Love Jozi) in Johannesburgs new urban redevelopment success Arts on Main. It was fantastic and I had a great time. From Fixie riders from around the city coming in, to tons of late afternoon drinkers. Its a great spot.

Came across a really cool brand whilst there called XXII which is sold on Juta Street in the center of Johannesburg. You can get it at the market on main every sunday.

Jacques & Bradley
Nice work Bradley & Jacques, as well as XXII.

Team Uncool Loves: Nixon Watches Classic Mellor

I was browsing around the A store website and came accross their promotion on the classic Mellor designed watch by Nixon. I owned a Nixon  Newton in Black until earlier this year when it was stolen on Hvar island in Croatia. I miss it and am still angry that some bastard stole it.  They are comfortable amazing watches that always get noticed and complimented. I dont know how long they last, as I have never got over 6 months as a owner but from chatting to other owners I never hear anything bad about them.

The well designed Mellow design reminds me a little of new the black on black Swatch designs but seems to have a little more in the build side and the strap design loops look quiet rugged and well thought through.

A store has a special on them at the moment with 15 % off all purchases. Click here if you wanna get one from them in South Africa. A Store Is Good.

Team Uncool Fashion Likes: Revolutionary Nicola Formichetti

I have no idea why Lady Gaga came to mind while I was sitting on the couch this morning over looking the Indian Ocean while on Vacation in Durban, South Africa's tropical paradise. I always think of Lady Gaga and style master Nicola Formichetti as a unit, leaning more towards the fashion than the music. He being one of the most 'on it' stylist's in the world, having worked as fashion editor for publications like Dazed, V & Another Magazine.

Im not such a fan of Lady Gaga's music but I am a fan of Nicola Formichetti, the Japanese Italian superstar falls in as one of my greats of 2010. He is currently the fashion director of Vogue Hommes
Japan.

Lady Gaga for Rolling Stone Magazine.

Fashion Director of Dazed for a time, producing some of their most rememberable covers.

New on his blog. Lady Gaga, Dark and Twisted.
