TeamUncoolFashion likes: Packlight 'Less is more' Lisbon Portugal

Got this from a friend. If your in Lisbon tomorrow night, check it out. I like their philosophy. Their pop up store open tomorrow night in Lisbon from 12 - 19.

The flyer below is in Portuguese but thankfully they kindly sent it to me in English too, :

'Pack Light gathers some pieces of clothing around the concept 'less is more"; pieces that we relate to, and that we feel are special in virtue of their quality and beauty in the details. It is, after all, with attention to detail that we can see things in a different perspective

More than a Pop Up Store, we felt the necessity to create a platform where we could expose the products we admire, and that we gather along in our journeys. We looked at the brands, big or small, and at the people who use them, because we want to tap into each persons singular narrative.

We focused on menswear, but because we value the products beyond their aesthetics, because we admire how they're made, who makes them and what motivates them to do it, we also focused on the ideas behind each one of the pieces and the way we relate to them.

Pack Light is not only a lifestyle; it is the culture we're part of. The pieces gathered in this first edition, reflect a state of mind regarding fashion and also the atitude that we exhibit daily, long after lights out, in the next morning, facing the day.

We seek the rare, the undiscovered and the new, having the importance of tradition always present. It is with these elements in mind that we explore several sides of menswear, in order to present our sense of style.

Welcome to Pack Light Pop Up Store. '

Team Uncool Likes: Breasts in 3D (3DD)

Finally someone bit the bullet and made a book about breasts, in 3D. It was bound to happen after the new wave 3D revolution in the fashion print industry. Since Vogue brought out their 3D issue everyone started jumping on the little 3d band wagon.

Photographer Henry Hargreaves, a New York based photographer originally from New Zealand is definitely not the Sheap Shagging stereotype. He seems super capable of making beautiful images and this book is obviously focused on most straight mens main obsession.

The best part of the book is the fact that you get a set of Ray Ban, Aviator inspired 3D glasses, Kitch but cool.

Anyway, this looks like a great one for the bachelor pad coffee table. Just don't leave it around when you bring the misses home.

Check out the book : http://three-dd.com/

Team Uncool Loves: Swedish Kids in Summer @ Way Out West Festival

In August this year I attended Way Out West Festival in Gotteborg, Sweden. I never got around to uploading the images I shot until now.

Lets be honest Swedish kids are gorgeous and look like they're wearing new clothes everyday.

Here are some of the selections I made from my trip there.

Team Uncool Likes: Guillotine by Lisa Jaffe. Performance Piece JHB

Im a big fan of fashion designer Lisa Jaffe's work and worked with her on one of her ranges years ago. To coincide with the launch of the new Creative Quarter, 70 Juta Street in Johannesburg, she put on a performance piece stylistically representing the process of dress making and its materials. The the project seems self explanatory once watching the video below and I was highly impressed.

here is some text from the 70 Juta Street blog explaining the project:

'Guillotine by Lisa Jaffe is a quiet phenomenon here in downtown Jo’burg. Sure, it sounds like blatant nepotism – she’s part of the family and all, but it’s true. There are really only a few designers who can marry fashion and philosophy without coming off all poncy. Her last collaborative project (Monotype) for the recent SA Fashion Week at neighbouring Jo’burg hotspot, Arts on Main, was a hot mess – turning the traditional ramp show on it’s head, it ended up being part performance, part installation, all critical acclaim. And that’s the way we like our anti-fashion.
Check out our Guillotine digi-pictorial after the jump. It’s also a good idea to watch our friend Chiara Frisone’s exclusive webisode for Monotype. You’ll find it here too.'

Go Johannesburg and go Lisa Jaffe, well done.
