Two 30 year-old Menswear graduates from Central Saint Martins get together to form a brand focused on razor-sharp lines, sophisticated fabrics and a timeless fit, A.Hallucination. The designers Hwan Sung Park and Chung Chung Lee have cut their teeth at renowned fashion houses such as Burberry, Alexander McQueen, Tom Ford, Ozwald Boateng and Lie Sang Bong, Paris. Presenting their first collection entitled "The First Peal," the main theme is an interesting combination of modern and classic, inspired by the scenery of London such as London Eye with Big Ben and Gherkin. Lee and Park claim: “We would like to show the new ‘modern English dandy’ through our first collection. We think the mix of classic fabrics and modern design and cutting represent the true London. It’s like how St Paul's Cathedral and the Millennium Bridge go so well together.”

life without contradictions must be a dull one indeed. And what better contradiction exists than that of the beautiful geek? The successful return of geek-glasses, so beloved in the 80s, so rejected in the 90s, has had us all reaching for the oversized specs. A somewhat risky move that has us teetering on the fence between an eighties mum and a fashion-forward noughties chic. Falling safely on the fashionable side of the fence, whilst happily perpetuating the beauty and brains oxymoron, these tortoiseshell specs by Prism are just the ticket.

Colette is a shopper's Valhalla. Under one roof, you can find such cult items as a Burberry “Exclusive for Colette” studded trench, graffiti artist André’s “Métaphysique” notebooks for Smythson and—perhaps best of all—a Terry Richardson doll. Opened in 1997 by Colette Rousseaux and her daughter Sarah, the world-famous concept store at 213 rue Saint-Honoré stocks trophy pieces by Comme des Garçons, Maison Martin Margiela and Lanvin, luxe beauty products, glam gadgetry and toy collectibles. The wall of limited edition Nike, Reebok and Converse pieces throws sneaker freaks into a frenzy, while in the restaurant and water bar, chilled shelves are stocked with over fifty varieties of H2O. The store also doubles as gallery, currently featuring work from Craig Redman of cult blog Darcel Disappoints, with South African photographer Pieter Hugo set to exhibit for the duration of the football World Cup. For today’s in-store homage shot by Arnaud Pyvka (British Vogue, Details, Wallpaper*), NOWNESS asked Sarah, the tastemaker and personality behind Colette, to tour us around the shelves and point out a few of her favorite things.

teamuncoolfashion likes: Scent Stories: perfume packaging design

  • Scent Stories
    perfume packaging design
  • Perfume packaging design and the concept of the perfume were always our dream project. So we took men’s fragrance as our challenge.

At the begining we were concentrating on the idea of the scent itself. We found inspiration in the great, dark literature and distinctive, strong characters. We tried to describe the dark sides of men's nature with line of scents named after famous writers.

We packed the scents into bottles which resemble both old glass perfume bottles and the classic shape of the inkwell. We made them white, added black strong lettering and heads of characters which loosely recall
    autor's famous masterpieces.
