"The ONO collection is directly inspired by our white snowmotherland FINLAND, and the sounds of Jean Sibelius, a finnish aristocrat, cool guy and the worlds greatest composer of all time. It's this guy who also composed the world famous national symphonic poem named, Finlandia. Coincidentally the best vodka brand in the world is also named Finlandia. Driving under the influence, in 1994, the CONTROL skateboards brand was born, and then slowly evolved as a four letter CTRL fashion brand. The new neckbaby offspring from these two names is called ONO. Just a simple brand evolution. Take the letters C T R L out of the name CONTROL and you get left with the letters ONO. Do the math, said Yoko to Yoko when Imagine sold out in the Billboard Hot 100. Snow kidding" - CTRL x

We’ve not really covered a lot of Y-3 — there’s always been too much branding on everything for our taste — but we just had a pair of black sneakers up that we think are super hot. And, we got our hands on another pair of Y-3’s called the Honja Hi (retail $260) in navy that we haven’t seen until now.

They kinda remind us of Common Projects, but half the price without sacrificing any of the style. These are sick!

The skate shoe grows up. The adidas Y-3 Honja Hi is our freshest and most popular silhouette. This mid-cut sneaker looks sleek thanks to the hidden lacing system, clean lines and foxing tape finishing.

If cobbler extraordinaire Pierre Hardy’s new spring line is any indication, it’s hip to be square again. Inspired by the regularity of Moroccan tiling and the line drawings of Sol Le Witt, he raises the humble quadrilateral to the height of fashion with his new Cube Perspective collection of graphic footwear and accessories in coated canvas with leather accents. From bags and sneakers to laptop and iPhone cases, the line is a cross between Rudi Gernreich, M.C. Escher and a checkerboard. To celebrate the launch during the Paris collections, Hardy commissioned artist Tal Isaac Haddad to create an installation in homage to the square, drawing fashion’s finest to the Palais du Bourbon shop, including Rick Owens and L’Wren Scott. Our picks are the sneakers that re-envision the classic Hardy shape with a mod twist, a running start on fall’s romance with the sixties.

"Inside Decoration" was the theme Rei Kawakubo offered for fall, but then, such explanations are always open to interpretation when it comes to Comme des Garçons. What we see and experience is more the point. In contrast to fashion's obsession with the body-conscious, Kawakubo, ever the rebel, sent out clothes and forms blown up to enormous volumes. In her usual palette of black, white, gray and tartan red, she presented dresses with what looked like built-in bullet-proof vests. The coats and jackets, worn with balloon shorts, offered even more exaggeration of protection in the form of lumps and bumps, reminiscent of her revolutionary show of 1997. The bumps resembled internal organs and body parts, but shown on the exterior. Can a skirt resemble intestines? Yes, if it's a Comme skirt—a much more polite version of what's really on our insides. Then came a series of white dresses that looked more like an overflowing bubble bath, or cumulus clouds floating through a sky of puzzled faces.
